Almost two months since the travel ban from Romania and adjacent counties has been enforced by DEFRA, life has become incredibly difficult for both rescuers and strays alike in Romania. We were contacted by Stefania, a friend of the rescue who was looking to find a safe haven for one of the dogs in this pack, who was in an absolute dire condition, riddled with mange. Through the help of another rescuer we met Geta, who was the only person kind enough to go and help administer treatment to the poor baby … Unfortunately, there is no safe space to take her as everyone is full beyond capacity, and on top of that … the little sick dog has some stray friends that need feeding and looking after. They are near a very busy roundabout in Tuzla, near Constanta, Romania, and we would like to help Geta provide flea, worming (aprox 35 RON per dog x 6 dogs = 210 RON) and some food from time to time (aprox 100 RON for 20 kg of kibble) – so a total of 310 RON, or aproximately £55. Could you help us give them at least this basic care, if there is no other alternative to provide them a better life, until the ban is lifted and rescuers can take on more animals?
